Another Satisfied Customer !

Winner of the "Customer who's travelled the greatest distance to Capt. Dave's" Award, Mr. Bantz displays his unbridled excitement for landing a fish Friday mid morning.

Mr. Bantz also took top honors in the following categories during the excursion:

( 2 ) - Greatest number of fish caught

( 2 ) - Greatest variety of species caught ( Perch & Blue Gill )

( * ) - Greatest poundage of fish caught -- As all other boat occupants failed to catch any fish

In addition, a good time was had by all Thursday evening-- brats on the grill & cold beer (unfortunately, the burgers were scorched as Capt. Dave was distracted by the conversations held with Mr. Bantz while attempting to grill).

Thursday evening we watched the 25th Anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, followed by a small portion of the Dark Knight on Capt. Dave's Media Center. Then we retired early in preparation of the pre-dawn wake up time.

Friday afternoon upon returning from the fishing adventure we watched Joe Bonamassa in Concert, as Capt. Dave reprieved himself by grilling the hamburgers " Just Right".

All Participants enjoyed the event, and suggested scheduling another outing in the near future.

IRWIN IS FULL OF CARP !!

After Capt. Dave's boat passed it's 2010 shake down cruise, we anchored under the shade of the Portland Mills bridge for a little fishing.

As you all are aware, customer satisfaction is #1 with Capt. Dave, he always ensures his passengers catch fish. Irwin holds the distinction of the year's first catch -- a Carp, the largest fish he's landed with Capt. Dave. Given the water's current, lightweight rod and reel, it put up quite a fight! Ultimately loosing the battle, only to come aboard for a cameo picture with the victor -- Irwin, before being gently released back into it's native habitat.

This battle however, indelibly burned lasting memories for both creatures, one positive and one negative.

We have received word the fish is currently seeking counseling....

2010 Fishin' Season Is Nearly Here

Welcome Follower's of Capt. Dave's to the 2010 Fishing Season

For those of you who know Capt. Dave, here's an appropriate picture to open the 2010 Fishing Season.

The last outing of 2009 was closed out by loosing the windshield's left brace to the depths of Raccoon Lake. Allowing the left windshield to become out of square, noted by a 1/2 inch gap across the lower left portion of the assembly. One would think this is a simple part to replace, until contacting the manufacturer Taylor Marine Systems. They'd undergone many changes since the boat's manufacture in '99. Sometime between then and now, Taylor Marine lost the original bending jigs used to fabricate the part. After an exhaustive search led by customer service representative Robin Gordon, TaylorMade agreed to fabricate the part by hand using it's mirror (the remaining right brace) as a template. Capt. Dave not comfortable shipping the remaining part via commercial means, accepted Mr. Irwin's offer to drive the part to Gloversville, NY plant while he was in the upstate New York area for the '09 Thanksgiving Holiday. Two weeks later, both left and right braces were received safe and sound at Capt. Dave's residence.

Capt. Dave made arrangements with Greg Lighty of The Glass Doctor Danville Il, to repair the left windshield and install both left and right braces Friday April 9th 2010 at Reeder and Trausch Marine . The boat is also 4th in line for it's spring tune up -- part time help is working the service queue, more progress will be made once Larry returns from vacation April 10th.

Our first fishing excursion will be on or after April 15th. Situation updates will be posted as appropriate.

Here's to a Memorable 2010 Season !

Get your fishin' tackle ready!

Folks it's that time of year to find your rod and reel, clean it, and re-spool it with new fishing line. Capt. Dave has made a trip to Bass Pro Shops in Clarksville, IN to stock up on tackle, supplies, and check out the latest lures and fishing techniques. He too, recently completed the arduous task of re-spooling his reels, storing his latest purchases in the tackle box in preparation for the 2010 Fishing Season.

Don't wait until the last minute (as we're putting the boat in the water) re-spool those reel's now!
